How I work
Prepared, with backups.
I check all of my equipment the day before your wedding and always film with backup cameras, so nothing from your day is lost.
Documentary-style filming.
I film mostly from the side, so you can be yourselves. For posed moments, I give simple directions.
Your whole day.
I film the full day: getting ready, the first look, the ceremony and vows, the toasts, your first dance and the reception.
Editing and delivery.
I edit every wedding film myself and choose music to match the mood of your day. Most films are ready within a month, and within two months in peak season.

Your written quote
After our call, I send you a written quote based on the collection closest to your day.
Your date is booked
Once the contract is signed and the 25% deposit is in, the date is yours.
Your wedding, then your film
On the day, I stay in the background and film from the side. I edit your film by hand, and it is usually ready within a month.

I learned to see before I learned to film.
By profession, I am a web designer. I studied graphic design in college, and as a child I went to art school and learned to draw.
When I moved to the United States, my incredibly talented neighbor Kyle, a cinematographer, taught me how to use a cinema camera. Everything else came from my own path since art school: composition, light, and a taste for beautiful art. Life is art. I can show it through my lens and my own eyes.

I film mountain elopements and coastal weddings anywhere in the United States. Travel is always listed in your quote.

How far ahead should we reach out?
For summer and fall weddings, six to twelve months is ideal. Elopements and smaller days can often be arranged sooner.
Do you travel?
Yes — anywhere in the United States.
When will we receive our film?
Most films arrive within a month; in the busiest part of the season, within two months at most.
What if the weather turns?
Some of my favorite films were made in rain and snow. We plan around it together, and it often adds to the story.
Can we share the film online?
Of course. Your film is yours to share with family, friends and anywhere online.
How do we reserve our date?
We start with a short call. Then I send you a written quote and a contract. Once it's signed and the 25% deposit is in, your date is reserved just for you.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote lists everything, including travel if your day is outside the Seattle area. The price we agree on is the price you pay.
Will you help us with posing?
Yes, whenever you need it. Most of the day I film from the side, but if you feel unsure, I’ll show you where to stand and what to do.
Do you film small weddings and elopements?
Yes, and I love them. Essential was made for intimate days, and we can shape it around your plans anywhere in the United States.
How do you choose the music?
By the feeling of your day. Romantic, country, pure party — the music follows you, not a template.
What if something goes wrong on the day?
I prepare the day before and film every wedding with backup cameras. Your day happens once; I plan for that.
